While the near thrashing of European giants Chelsea is inspiring, there is still a long way to go. This is a game to be stored away in the collective memory of Romanisti everywhere and brought out whenever we play a Sampdoria/Bologna/Inter/Bordeaux or what have you. Chelsea were, prior to this game, considered one of the most in form teams in Europe. To be handed a 3-1 loss by a struggling Roma speaks tremendous volumes about the core caliber of this Giallorossi side.  

If something can be taken from this game, it is that the reliable faces from Roma are not to be counted out yet. Vucinic has been a sore spot for many these past weeks because of the lack of heart he has shown. See what he is capable of given the right mindset. A brace and near hat trick. Totti is eeking closer to something that resembles match fit, kind of. Baptista is receiving quality minutes, here an there. Pizzarro is making everyone realize how valuable he is for now and Panucci was briefly the leading scorer for the beleaguered Roma side. Even Cicinho had an quality game.

Roma are climbing back into the frying pan and are nearly out of the fire. Now we need someone to come turn the stove off. Maybe Peter Crouch?  It's off to Toscana to play ourselves again. Which Roma side will show up? I would not want to be Bologna, but maybe I would.....

Did everyone see the smile on Spalletti's face after the second Vucinic goal? That smile says job security.

   This is a squad that shouldn't have to toss out quotes like, "we were resilient."  Roma has 7 points after they got thrashed at the hands of Inter, a truly anti-climatic match up.  Chelsea was a surprise.  Roma played with a lot of spirit on the pitch and its unfortunate Terry scored.  

   Now this team is looking at possible elimination from the Champions League as they welcome Chelsea to the Olimpico.  The domestic strife continues this week as Spalletti travels back to the Stadio Friuli to take on high flying Udinese.

I want more smiles.

   Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The only reason it is not a must win for our giallo and rossi is because no one thinks they can win. With the Blues unbeaten streak at home and an out of form Roma there is no chance, right? I have hope my friends. Point(s) would be nice because as it stands our CL group is completely up in the air. I can't think of anything else to say besides this discouraging quote from the Roma Inter game commentator.

And one can't help but think this Roma side is just a shadow of their former selves.
