TV sucks

Bad television

Holy Shit. I will acknowledge that even yet there remain some threading forces that compel me to watch the occasional tube programming, the odd news program even (the 24 hour news cycle has kind of ruined even that). There are some inherent things I do, like constantly refreshing CNN.com during downtime or reading the NYT, but the past time of just tuning out life and tuning into TV is hanging by an audio visual cable recently. Shows like Top Chef, who calls the ignominious Bravo TV home, have devolved into this ridiculous sex sells product whore....basically trash, ultimate trash TV. With ABC and NBC revamping their model and Christian Slater jumping into a new TV show in which "the as-yet untitled drama is being described as "'The Bourne Identity' meets 'Jekyll & Hyde'"(absurd), there is no light ahead. I think it is CBS that is on Big Brother 8. That little tidbit lead me to Wikipedia Big Brother only to find a map and charts showing an international breakdown including over 30 countries with shows having similar premises or actual spinoffs of the original....just sad. I used to hear those urinal conversations about the recent demise of the sitcom and/or quality television. Now I just pray for something to unhook legions of morons from this mediocrity and general poor taste, which at times includes me. Better of sticking with the classics. See below.
