Wurp it, Wurp it, Wurp it Fast
Bop. Bop.
I registered for classes yesterday... I secured a full schedule after waiting for over 2 hours to speak with my department head. There is so much red tape at my college its ridiciulous.
As a pre-emptive strike against my bouts with insomnia this past week, I decided to go to zi club. I figured why not. I think I need to get an Ambien presciption because I can't seem to sleep which is realy unlike me. When my head hits the pillow I usually fall asleep like a rock but ever since getting back from Pittsburgh it just hasn't been happening.
A week from tomorrow its Ricky Hatton v. Mayweather. Go Hatton! I want to see him knock Floyd off his feet. If it goes to decision Mayweather will retain his title because he is a boxer, Hatton is the brawler. It should be a good fight.
I don't have anything else to talk about. I'm just laying here listening to the first 30 seconds of The Perfect Kiss by New Order (Wear headphones and listen to the start to 11sec mark. So cool). Christian Bale is rumored to be the new Terminator. I wonder if he will mimic Schwarzenegger accent.

Tea TimeAlright, let me hit you with some knowledge. I am an avid tea drink and connoisseur of sorts. I was sippin' green tea before the studies dropped. I was there before the mate boom of the past year. I was slowly whittling down a kilo of that stuff over the course of a year with my bombilla in hand.
I was on the tea scene man, I was baggin' it and sellin' it on the streets. I had the whites, blacks, reds, and exotic blends before they were on your supermarket shelf. I've been to Darjeeling and I saw a single man harvest 5 tons of tea leafs with his bare hands. You hear me? His bare hands. I've seen a woman in Morocco prepare over 100 cups of Atai in under 5 minutes. I've seen it all. Chai sit downs with your parents and meetings with Earl in London. Tea ceremonies in Tokyo before you saw that Tom Cruise movie. WHAT!?
Right now I'm drinking some South African Rooibos tea. Its a red tea, however it is oxidized from green leafs. Red is by far the more popular leaf. Slightly sweet, I choose to drink it straight up but people also like it with milk and sugar. Its also caffeine free and shares many of the same health benefits as green tea. I recommend steeping the leafs for around 10 minutes (single cup, 30minutes/pot). You can use the leafs for a few servings. If you live in the NYC area I recommend going to McNulty's Tea & Coffee Company a quaint little store in the West Village.
A Lesson Learned and the shortlist
I picked up a copy of AM New York on my way home from yoga. By the way not to be a dirt bag... There was a beautiful (beau-ti-ful) girl in my class today. Spanish in origin definitely, Spain/Barca, I think she was speaking Catalan with her girlfriend. Wow... I tried getting a spot next to her but I came late and the only spot was up front.
ANYWAY, the purpose of a newspaper called AM New York is for people to read it in the AM. I've been listening to Sufjan Stevens for the past week and he was performing tonight in Park Slope. I missed it... it was sold out but tickets on craigslist were only $40. I would have gone. Bummer...
The Shortlist:
David Bowie - Moonage Daydream (It's 70's David Bowie Mannnnnn. The Santa Monica '72 live version is a personal favorite)
The Libertines - Music When The Lights Go Out (I have been listening to Pete Doherty on a consistent basis for the past week. I like it a lot. The horn at the beginning sucked me in. Here is an acoustic sample of the good stuff.)
The Killers - Where the White Boys Dance (Off their new b-sides cd Sawdust, the drums are great , the piano is great, the chorus is great. A bit commercial to the ear... who cares. By the way, if the name of this song was posed as a question the answer would be my apartment. They also collaborated with the one and only Lou Reed on the track Tranquilize. I can just imagine Lou jamming out with these young bucks and that makes me smile.)
Weezer - Undone/Sweater Song (Last night I ate at Momofuku for the first time in months. This song was playing, I hadn't heard it in months. I like it, you will too.)
Traffic - Dear Mr. Fantasy (Play us a tune/Something to make us all happy. Classic song. Personally, I like biking to this song for some reason. When this song is playing I am at a higher risk of getting hit by a car. Performing live here.)
Wait for it... Wait... There it is
^^^After great Barcelona-Lyon game (Roma crushed in Kiev 4-1) I walked upstairs just in time to see this... Catch the reaction at :33sec. That is pure skill my friend. Roma move on bitches.
I'm writing this before I go to work, I'm in a rush and don't have much to say. If you are bored watch the new episode of Thumbs Up Season 2, read this article, read Dullas and Sense if you wanna make some extra money, and look out the window at all the pretty autumn foliage. I'll write later. Have a nice day.
Superfly and 5 reasons Roma will advance
Well fuck me Tommy. What have you been reading?
I just want to study film, JEBSUS! I guess I have 2 years of school left. I've been looking at classes to fill all the lame requirements. For example; Women and Men in the Labor Market (I'm an econ minor).
My body is really sore from doing yoga again. I must admit the first class I went to seemed like a breeze after tonight. After an hour I was drenched in sweat and my body was on fire. Then I went outside, standing in the rain with my head hung low. I couldn't get a ticket to the sold out show....
The Roman Revival
- The veteran stopper Christian Panucci. Saved Roma against Genoa and secured Euro 2k8 in Scotland.
- Dynamo Kiev are the bottom feeders of Group F
- Rodrigo Taddei is back. Yes, I think he looks like William Dafoe but he is also a great wingman. Hopefully he is in form.
- ManU will beat Sporting Lisbon. Red Devils have 100% win record and they are trying to make up for their loss at Bolton over the weekend
- And the final reason? I will be at Nevada Smiths cheering them on. Sevilla - Arsenal should also be a great match
Infinita Tristeza
It felt comforting to see the Manhattan skyline as I approached the GW bridge. A full moon was out and had an orange tint. Tomorrow I have to meet with my academic advisor so I can plan my "future." I want to get a full schedule so I can wrap this little stint in higher education up. Maybe I'll pick up an internship in the spring.
My dog got out of her operation and my mom says she looks like a zombie dog/war veteran but she feeling a lot better.
One thing that came out of this extended holiday weekend was the discovery of The Poet of Skid Row, Charles Bukowski. This Sunday evening I'll leave you with this:
Roll The Dice
if you’re going to try,
go all the way.otherwise, don’t even start.
if you’re going to try,
go all the way.
this could mean losing girlfriends,
wives, relatives, jobs and
maybe your mind.go all the way.
it could mean not eating for 3 or 4 days.
it could mean freezing on a
park bench.
it could mean jail,
it could mean derision,
mockery,isolation.
isolation is the gift,
all the others are a test of your
endurance,
of how much you really want to
do it.and you’ll do it
despite rejection and the worst odds
and it will be better than
anything else
you can imagine.if you’re going to try,
go all the way.
there is no other feeling like that.you will be alone with the gods
and the nights will flame with
fire.do it, do it, do it.
do it.all the way
all the way.you will ride life straight to
perfect laughter,
its the only good fight
there is.
