Just a... Boss Tweed
Just a Boss Tweed character walking around in a white suit, twirling a pocket watch, and inspecting (judging, watching, judging) with his monocle. Why is a powerful man like yourself trying to shut down a lowly Maryland bar off of Route One? You bastard. You fucking bastard. I mean the place still serves ZIMA for Christ's sake. ZIMA! I didn't even know ZIMA was in mass production anymore after it was the butt of countless jokes at house parties from NYC to LA... I guess the south has been a lil' slow right? I mean blackface? The Union really bamboozled you guys.
Al Gore laughs off Boss Tweed tag. Why is this so funny?
Its Fiddy... CENT.
"I listened to some of the debates and things that they were saying, and I just got lost in everything that was going on…Don't look for my vote, for me to determine nothing on that. Just say, '50 Cent, he don't know, so don't ask Fiddy.' - Curtis Jackson
Yes, Fiddy. I praise you for your political awareness and activism. Who does 50 cent and possibly the entire G-Unit support? Read the article.
Lame Duck
Wow... You really know you aren't doing shit as the leader of the United States after you have thrown the ceremonial first pitch a record six times. Watch him get booed.
Lethal Poison
Wayyyy down south, London town.
I must tell you about this pet peeve I have with public transportation. I live in New York City and take public transportation is my primary method of travel. My day job demands it, if I had my way I would bike or walk everywhere (My, my aren't I feeling green). Anyway, I absolutely at all costs try and avoid holding on the support bars when I have to stand on a crowded train or bus. When I am forced to hold on the must be, MUST BE, cold. A shudder runs down my spine and I freak out when grabbing on to a warm bar. A lil'mysophobic? I wonder if anyone else has that though run through their head, "shit a warm bar." Its bad enough knowing I'm grabbing a bar that has been touched by millions of people (MTA cleaning them?... Ha!), its even worse to know that some random person had a death grip on it right before my hand clutches it. Ughhhh, the warmth... Just a hotbed of germs. Sick... Sick... Sick...
A Mental Note
I wrote this on a memo pad file on my Blackberry.
"Life goal: start Boston cover band."
Webster Hall is Haunted
My friend got me a ticket to Ghostland Observatory (GO) this past Friday. They played Webster Hall and I was really excited because I had never been to the recently land marked venue. Well, I wouldn't say excited... Maybe intrigued would be a better word considering the crowd of Long Island douche bags, uptown 'gangstas', and NYU physics majors that are usually lined up outside every weekend.
Webster Hall is a pretty cool little venue. I appreciated the building itself but everything after that warranted a can of gasoline and matches. The venue was terrible when it came to bar service. There were two bars each being worked by no more than three people. It took me over 30 minutes to get a drink among a myriad of people and my elbows were resting ON the bar. I must say this is a huge minus in my book. There was a fleeting moment where my inner Pat Bateman felt the need to unleash itself:
"You're a fucking ugly bitch. I want to stab you to death, and then play around with your blood."
If I ever go back (not likely) I will either get absolutely shitfaced before hand or remain sober. Appalling...

Next order of business... The concert itself. I didn't know much about GO but my friend was really excited to see them after he saw them at a music festival in Florida. Tickets were $20 so what the hell, why not? The concert was neat... The duo of keyboardist and pig tailed front man worked the stage behind a blinding light display. Some of the lights were so blinding that at times it seemed like they weren't on stage at all, which is a compliment to their name. The cape wearing-half of GO, Thomas Turner, banged away on his synth and drums in a concentrated manor while Aaron Behrens, the eccentric front man, worked the stage all night like a rock star. His moves and voice reminded me of Freddy Mecury.
The definitely rocked the crowd for the first half of the show. Then the energy started to dwindle, I must give credit to Behrens/Turner they rocked it, but it felt like I was in a cemetery. This band plays DANCE music. I was in the middle of the floor with my friends and we were four out of maybe twenty people that were moving. The show was SOLD OUT. Nobody was dancing, I felt like I was waiting in line at a methadone clinic. It was too a point where I was annoyed. There was no energy present for a semi-enjoyable band. I left before the encore, pausing briefly at the door to give them one more chance to resurrect the crowd. As I listened to the opening bars to their first tune I glanced up and saw a girl by herself twirling glo sticks... A definite cue to depart the morgue.
Six Underground
I have a weekend recap... I will type it up at work. I got a head full of drought. For now just watch this '90s electro-pop music video from the Sneaker Pimps.
Ghostland
I went to the Ghostland Obeservatory concert at the newly landmarked Webster Hall last night. I was a virgin Webster Hall patron... I will have a full review later on in the day. For now I'm going to stroll the streets and maybe ride my bike around the city.
Forza Roma!
Flowers in your hair
For some reason I feel like this song embodies love, peace, and happiness. It should be the theme song for the city.
