Monday, August 11, 2008 at 08:32PM Surprise! Its the national dish of Nicaragua. I just arrived in Granada 3 hours ago. I love it here.
I would have to say its been about 8 years since I´ve been on a school bus... Until today. What a trip! It fit the Latin America stereotype to a t, colorful bus crammed with people. The ride had everything except chickens running down the aisle. By everything I mean, the ride from Rivas to Granada yielded a blown tire.
What more could I ask for?
US backed Contras really did a number on this place... Despair is in the air but so is hope and people are genuinely happy. Its a noticeable departure from the ¨¨luxourious¨ beach towns of Costa Rica. I have una semana here before I have to trek back to San Jose. My goal is to write fifty pages... Its taking awhile to adjust to the pen and paper. Tech spoils our generation.
I´m going to San Juan del Sur for my last day of surf...
Pura Vida is the anthem of Central America.
